Annual Thornton-le-Dale Spinride raises £5000
Held on Saturday 5th May, the day that The Tour de Yorkshire passed through the village, the annual Spinride raised the magnificent total of £5000. Approximately 60 riders pedalled for 30 minutes each, between 8am to 8pm, covering some 507 miles!
The day included a Tombola, ‘Best Decorated Bicycle’ competition, Music on the Green, cake stall, Hog Roast, Face Painting and an Auction.
£4000 has been donated to Martin Hospice for Childrenand Young People and the remainder to localcharities.Becky Nicholson, Community Fundraiser, received the money on behalf of Martin HouseHospice.

Thanks also to local businesses for their support,with a special mention to Peter Nelson Fitness
Centre,for the loan of the bikes and to Dalby Bike Barn with helping organise the event.
It was a great Community effort, involving all ages and above everything else was a funday’.
